Benefits Technology Consultant

The Richards Group is currently seeking a Benefits Technology Consultant to join our Employee Benefits Division in Concord, NH. The Benefits Technology Consultant will manage the vetting process for all technology platforms that will provide our clients best of breed services. These technology platforms may include Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Benefits Administration, Payroll, Recruitment, Time and Attendance, and Talent Management systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts project initiation activities and researches available technologies per client needs and specifications

  • Analyze existing client systems, interface requirements, business processes and operational needs

  • Responsible for development of design documents

  • Provides professional consulting services in the areas of product/service customizations, business processes, complex custom reports and special projects as related to implementation effort

  • Works and counsels with client on system and service configuration efforts, product adaptation and business best practice solutions

  • Determines best methodology and oversees the accurate and timely conversion of client's data

  • Builds client control information and oversees the pre- and post-implementation testing of products

  • Oversees formal hand-off of system and operational services to other departments/clients

  • Participates in establishing and monitoring of client implementation schedule and report status to Account Executive Team members

  • Prepares individual work plans in conjunction with established project milestones

  • Ensure issues and risks are documented and work with team members to resolve

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS     

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Business Administration or related discipline

  • Experience with benefits insurance carriers: medical, dental, vision, etc.

  • Prior experience working with Benefit Administration and/or Private Exchange Platforms (bswift, Plansource, Benefits Focus, Employee Navigator)

  • An ability to develop and foster effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and consultants

  • Open Enrollment, New Hire and Life Event administration experience

  • Working knowledge with pertinent federal legislation including Affordable Care Act, COBRA, ERISA, ADA

  • Working knowledge of COBRA

  • 5-8 years' related work experience

  • Overall knowledge of multi-service project interdependencies and Benefit Administration

  • Strong knowledge of all core business products, skilled in implementing multiple products

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • The flexibility to work effectively collaboratively and independently

  • Must have previous experience working within HR and understanding of HR jargon and best practices.

  • Experience in relevant industry, as Benefit Specialist and/or with system implementations

  • Solid full cycle benefit implementation experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Employee Benefits team and their clients directly and indirectly to assure that there is repeated success, the clients are fully satisfied and identify client’s new needs.

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required

• Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint is required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong customer orientation required

• Effective analytical and organization skills

• Ability to work independently and be self-directed; demonstrates self-confidence.
