The Richards Group is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to support our Controller. This position will join our Finance and Accounting Department and be based in our Brattleboro, VT branch location.

Accounting & FINANCE

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS   

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in the relation area as an individual contributor

  • Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes

  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data

  • Highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets

  • Must be a perfectionist by nature with no tolerance for financial errors

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have excellent work habits and time management skills

  • Must work well under pressure and be deadline driven

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO ALSO HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Account Manager Assistant

Commercial LINES

The Richards Group is currently seeking three Account Manager Assistants to join our Commercial Lines team. One hire will be based in Brattleboro, Vermont, one in Bennington, Vermont and the other will be based in Hanover, NH. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has excellent customer service and relationship building skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist Commercial Lines customer service with the responsibility of providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to insureds, producers and insurance companies.

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working in a professional office environment.

  • Pleasant, courteous and professional - has the ability to work well with a variety of people.

Sales Producer

The Richards Group is currently seeking a Sales Producer to join our Commercial Lines team in the Rutland & Middlebury region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing a book of business, identifying client’s potential needs and seeking opportunities to sell/co-sell with colleagues in the Personal Lines, Employee Benefits and Retirement Plan business units.

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS     

  • 3 years of business to business sales experience is required

  • An active Property and Casualty License is preferred

  • Knowledge of AMS 360 is preferred

  • 1-3 years insurance sales experience is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Willingness and ability to travel by car throughout the region

Account Manager

Personal Lines

The Richards Group is currently seeking an Account Manager to join our Personal Lines team in our Brattleboro, VT location. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New business development, sales and servicing
    Pursue cross-line sales and additional coverages with existing clients

  • Rating/quoting on company systems

 
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be a team player and work collaboratively with manager, colleagues and clients

  • Effective time management and organization skills

  • Computer & Math skills that are highly accurate and efficient

  • High School diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Personal Lines Account Management Experience

  • An active Property & Casualty License

  • Experience using AMS 360 or similar software program

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Account Managers must attain a Property and Casualty License in the required time after starting with The Richards Group

  • All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check

  • The ability and willingness to travel to a different branch location for initial training is required
