Accounting Assistant

The Richards Group is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance and Accounting Department in our Brattleboro VT branch location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process, assign & reconcile daily receipts from benefits consulting billing; record payments, receipt checks, create deposits
  • Create and reconcile daily deposits
  • Cross-train to post benefits carrier commissions
  • Act as a help desk for general questions on billing and receipts
  • Provide backup on payables for vendors of our benefits department fee-based services
  • Provide backup to accounts payable for paying vendors for our monthly operating expenses

Qualified candidates must have the following skills and experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have above average math skills, knowledge of bookkeeping & accounting principles
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature with no tolerance for financial errors
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized & have excellent work habits and time management skills
